Sunny for much of Spain and Portugal, temperatures 30 to 35C, hottest in the south. Thunderstorms breaking out for northern Spain. A zone of thunderstorms is likely to develop across southern France and the Alps, also extending to the Balkan states and areas toward the Black Sea. However, Greece and Italy should escape dry and sunny - temperatures approaching 30C. Also, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia should escape with a dry day, highs 23 to 26C. High pressure resides across northern Europe, with dry conditions for Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and southern Scandinavia. Temepratures rising to 25C across northern France and Belgium may trigger afternoon showers. Cool and showery weather for northern Scandinavia, with some longer periods of rain possible. Strong northerly winds for Finland, temperatures struggling to make 10C.


Friday
A hot day across southern Europe, with temperatures widely approaching 30C around the Mediterranean, whilst in southern Spain & Portugal it may top 35C. Warm weather extends across much of central Europe, with highs of 25C in the Low Countries and Germany. However, thunderstorms will break out increasingly across northern & eastern France and the Alps, plus the Balkan region and Bulgaria. Dry and sunny for Greece, also Ukraine and Romania. High pressure brings dry westher to northern Germany, Denmark, Poland and areas around the Baltic. Some rain for western Norway. A cool northerly pattern continues for Finland, with showers possible.
