Thundery, heavy showers affecting NW Europe
Tuesday Most of Spain and Portugal will be hot and dry. Cooler for northern Iberia with some rain. The Mediterranean islands will be generally sunny and dry. Central Italy has a risk of thunderstorms forming. Greece and Turkey look dry and sunny. Heavy rain moves into western France, whilst intense thunderstorms form over southwestern France and advance eastwards later. Some showers and late thunderstorms for Switzerland, but Austria stays generally dry. Fair weather across Germany, hot with temperatures into the 30s for many places. A few showers for the Belgium and the Netherlands, but much of the day will be dry. Thundery showers scattered across eastern Europe, including Poland and Romania, whilst Czechia and much of Hungary will be mainly dry. Heavy rain affects Norway and moves into southern Sweden. Very warm around the Baltic, up to 30C for southern Sweden and Finland. Risk of thunderstorms for central Finland.
Wednesday Showers and longer spells of rain across the far north and northeastern parts of Spain. Dry but breezy for Portugal. Showers looking to affect the Balearics later too. Largely dry and fine through Italy, Greece and Turkey where it will be hot. Staying unsettled with thundery, heavy showers scattered across France, western parts of Germany and the Low Countries. Eastern areas of Europe through midweek looking to be largely dry and fine with sunny spells. Rain clearing from the west across Norway and northern regions of Sweden with drier and brighter weather to follow, although scattered showers cannot be ruled out. The outbreaks of heavy rain moves into northern and central areas of Finland as the day progresses with some heavy showers affecting the Baltic States. Largely dry across Denmark though showers migrating northwards across southern regions later.
