Rain moves into western Europe

Tuesday
A mostly fair day for Iberia - cloudy for Portugal and western Spain with occasional showers, drier and bright to the east. Cloudy too for northern Italy with outbreaks of rain becoming heavier and more persistent through the afternoon. Dry and bright for Greece and western Turkey.
A fine day for France with occasional showers for western and southern areas. Mostly dry and bright for the Low Countries, Germany and the Czech Republic. Bright too for Poland with isolated showers. Outbreaks of rain and snow for Switzerland, Austria and Hungary - these clearing to the south later.
A cold, bright and dry day for Denmark. Bright too for the Baltic States with scattered wintry showers. Mostly dry and bright for Finland, Sweden and southern Norway. Wintry showers affecting western and northern parts of Norway.

Wednesday
High pressure extends across northern central Europe with fair weather for the Low Countries, northern Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. A frontal system affects the Biscay coasts, with rain for northwest France, and the northwest of Spain and northern Portugal, some heavy falls. Dry for south and eastern Spain.
Areas of rain and mountain snow for the western Alps. Zones of thundery showers for Italy and the central Med, also southern Greece. Dry across eastern Europe, although some rain comes in from the Black Sea for Romania. Largely dry for southern Scandinavia, whilst rain and showers affect north and western Norway. Some patchy rain around the Baltic.
