Heavy, sometimes thundery, showers affecting southwestern Europe
Friday Heavy showers affecting eastern parts of Spain today whilst the west is brighter and drier with sunshine. The Balearics should be dry and sunny. Staying fine in Italy with more sunshine. A few showers for Greece, some of them heavy. Turkey is mainly dry with sunny spells, though there could be the odd shower to the north. Showers in the far west of France but otherwise dry with good spells of sunshine. Fair too in the Low Countries and Germany. Poland should be dry and sunny and this sunshine will be affecting Austria, Hungary and Switzerland too. Denmark should be fine with sunshine. More sunshine in southern Norway. Fair too in the Baltic States with scattered showers while there will be outbreaks of rain in northern Norway and the north of Sweden as well as Finland.
Saturday Showers ease over eastern Spain but a band of heavy rain moves across Portugal and into western Spain on Saturday. Isolated showers, some thundery, affecting the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia. A fair day for Italy with cloud building through the day. Mostly dry and sunny across Greece and Turkey. A mostly fair day for France though thundery showers will develop later for western and southern areas. Dry and bright for the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. Cloud building over Switzerland though it should stay dry here. A dry and sunny day for Denmark as well as southern portions of Norway and Sweden. Scattered showers, some of them wintry, over northern parts of Sweden and Norway and across much of Finland. Rain clears to the east over the Baltic States leaving a dry and bright end to the day.
