Turning colder again in central and eastern Europe, rain in southeast Mediterranean


Tuesday
It remains freezing across the eastern half of Europe. Mainly dry across Britain today while an area of heavy rain falls across France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Heavy snow showers to affect Denmark. Light snow is expected across parts of Germany. An area of heavier snow is forecast across Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic. The Adriatic region into the Ukraine. Heavy rain is expected across Romania and Bulgaria with showers for parts of Greece and western Turkey. Largely dry across Italy toddy. Frequent heavy showers are expected in the central Mediterranean again today and quite windy. Bitterly cold but dry across Russia, The Baltic States and Finland. Some snow to fall across parts of Sweden and Norway. An area of rain across Portugal spreads in across Spain through the day.


Wednesday
A fair day for Portugal and Spain with good spells of sunshine for many. Cloudier in eastern Spain with strong winds and a risk of some rain. Wet for the balearics, cold and windy too. Broken cloud for Italy but mostly dry. Greece should be dry with sunny spells, whilst Turkey has showers in the west.
Cloud and outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow in central and southern France. Brighter and mostly dry in northern France. The Low Countries will be cold with broken cloud and some sunny spells. Dry too in Germany and feeling cold here, again with bright spells. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland will have broken cloud and should be mostly dry, although some rain and snow affect Switzerland.
Cloudy with outbreaks of drizzle and snow in Denmark. Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain in the Baltic States. More cloud and some outbreaks of rain in southern Norway as well as southern Sweden. The north of Sweden and Norway will be dry with sunny spells.
